Overview of Prophecy Part 2
F. The Millennium
1. Messiah Yeshua will physically reign for 1000 years. This 1000-year period is called the Millennium.
2. During this time, various environmental and geographical changes will be instituted (Isaiah 2:2-3; 4:3; Zechariah 14:4, 8, 10, 16-21).
3. Israel will live in peace in their land (Isaiah 2:4; Jeremiah 23:4; Amos 9:14-15; Zechariah 8:4-5) with Jerusalem as the capital.
4. The Abrahamic Covenant land-grant boundaries will be established (Genesis 12:7; 13:15, 17; 15:7, 18), and a fountain or river of life will flow out of the Jerusalem Temple (Ezekiel 47:1-12).
5. Human longevity will be increased (Isaiah 65:20-25), and worldwide knowledge of God will exist (Isaiah 2:2-3; Jeremiah 31:34; Micah 4:5; Habakkuk 2:14).
6. Messiah Yeshua will personally and visibly reign on earth in righteousness over the affairs of all mankind and the Davidic Covenant will be fulfilled (2 Samuel 7:8-17; Psalm 2:6-8; Jeremiah 23:5-6).
7. The 12 apostles will have authority over the 12 Tribes of Israel (Matthew 19:28; Luke 22:28-30) and the church will have a part in governing the earth and will reign with Messiah Yeshua (2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 5:10; 20:4, 6; 22:5).
8. The millennial temple will be built (Ezekiel 40:5; 43:27), the New Covenant with Israel will be fulfilled (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 11:18-20; 36:25-28), and animal sacrifices will be offered (Ezekiel 43:18-27; 45:13-25).
9. The purpose of the millennial sacrifices is because God promised to dwell on earth during the millennium (as stated in the New Covenant), He must protect His presence through sacrifice. This sacrificial system will be a temporary one in that the millennium (with its partial population of unglorified humanity) will last only one thousand years. During the eternal state (after the Millennium) all inhabitants of the New Jerusalem will be glorified and will therefore not be a source of contagious impurities to pollute God’s holiness. Others believe the sacrifices will be a type of memorial remembering Yeshua’s death.
10. During this time, Satan will be confined to the abyss (Revelation 20:1-3).
G. Eternity Future
1. The present heavens and earth will be destroyed (2 Peter 3:7, 10, 12; Revelation 21:1), new heavens and earth will be created (Revelation 21:1-4), the New Jerusalem will descend to the new earth (Revelation 21:2, 10-27), and Messiah Yeshua will rule forever in the eternal kingdom with His redeemed people (Isaiah 9:6-7; Ezekiel 37:24-28; Daniel 7:13-14; Luke 1:32-33; Revelation 11:15; 22:5).
2. The Apostle John tells us there will be no more curse, the throne of God and the Lamb will be located in the city, we will worship Him (Revelation 22:3).
