SeanMcDowell.org
For the past three years, I have been tweeting an apologetics tip each day (well, at least most days I can think of one!). Here are the Top 10 Apologetics Tips from 2016 and the Top 10 Apologetics Tips from 2017.
Below are the top #Apologetics Tips from 2018 in descending order.
As you can see, some are tips for understanding and others are tips for practice. Many of these are from my book A New Kind of Apologist and others are simply from my research, experience, and Scripture. Enjoy!
10. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “Before speaking on an issue, ask yourself: Do I have all of the facts? Or at least a sufficient amount to make a reasonable judgment?”
9. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “Don’t base your beliefs in what you like, as tempting and natural as that may be. Seek truth, even if you don’t like it.”
8. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “There is some truth in every false belief system. Otherwise, no one would be tempted to believe it.”
7. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “When reading the Bible, it is not a live option to accept teaching you like and disregard teachings you don’t. Either it is inspired, and authoritative, or not.”
6. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “The core question many people are asking today is whether Christianity is good. If we can’t show that it is good, many will not even consider if it is true.”
5. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “Simply outwork people. Read more. Study more. Ask better questions. Think more deeply. There’s no shortcut.”
4. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “Scriptures as well as grocers know where items are located in the grocery store.”
3. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “Genuine tolerance means respecting people who view the world differently. Tolerating only those who hold your views is no tolerance at all.”
2. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “Whether in person or online, regularly ask yourself, “If that person were sitting across from me, would I be speaking with the same tone and attitude?”
1. Apologetics Tip of the Day: “Be Patient! Got an email from a friend who researched the historical Jesus for 7-8 years and just decided to become a Christian.”
